The Nizam’s museum is located at the Purani Haveli in the princely state of Hyderabad. The museum basically showcases all the gifts, mementos, which were received by Osman Ali Khan, Asaf Jah VII received on his silver jubilee celebrations. You will also be able to see the wooden throne, which was done up in Gold, this was actually used for the silver jubilee celebrations of the Last Nizam. A beautiful a golden tiffin box which is full of diamonds, is an exact miniature replica of the Jubilee Hall.
There is another wooden writing box which is studded with pearls, diamond and gold-studded caskets, daggers, silver perfume containers, which were originally presented by the King of Palvancha. Here you will be able to see silver coffee cups which are studded with diamonds and silver filigree elephant with mahout are on display. The wardrobe of the sixth Nizam is also there on display. A lift which is as old as 150 years, which was manual in those days, and drums which are almost 200 drums are available for you to see and enjoy.
The museum even has vintage cars like a Packard, Jaguar Mark V and a 1930 model of Rolls Royce put up on display.
The timings for visiting the museum are from 10:00am to 5:00pm from Saturday to Thursday. There are separate charges for students of Rs 15 and for adults an entry fee of Rs 65 is charged.
