Pandupol Hanuman Temple is a temple which has its own importance within the vicinity of Sariska National Tiger Reserve Sanctuary in Alwar district of Rajasthan. It is dedicated to Hindu Lord Hanuman and founded by Sant Nirbhaya Dassji Maharaj. It is situated inside the dense Sariska forest or 20 Km from the Sariska Tiger Reserve’s Booking Office. This temple has its historical importance due to its nearby bridge. It is prevalent that this is a bridge where Pandavas spent their time during exile.
It is believed that there are two hills which are meeting together and obstructed the way of Pandavas when they were traveling. Then Bhima broke it into two and resulting spot was beautiful like a door and modified into a natural waterfall. This waterfall is still exist and can be spot during rainy season.
It is believed that this ancient temple is one of the most visited location in Sariska. It is also eminent just because it is also known as a place where Lord Hanuman defeated Bhima and curbed his pride.
The temple has a giant idol of Lord Hanuman in reclining position. One can spot lot of Langoors, various types of birds and macaque in the premises of temple. Tuesdays and Saturdays are considered as sacred to Lord Hanuman and people visit this temple in huge number at these days. Devotees or tourists can access the temple by their personal vehicle on Tuesdays and Saturdays only. It will take approx 60 minutes to access the temple by your own vehicle. The opening time of temple is 8 AM and closing time is 3 PM.
