Parasanth is an isolated dusty town in the state of Jharkhand which is the railhead for Sikayi. Sikayi is a major Jain pilgrimage centre and people come here in large numbers. The site and the other temples located at the top of Parasanth Hill make the highest points of the Jharkhand state. It is believed that at this point 23 of the 24 Jain tirthankars got salvation including Parasanth at the age of 100.
The place is remotely located and therefore should only be visited if you have kept the security precautions told by the tourist department. There is also a beautiful town Madhuban which is 25 kms fromParasanth where you will find the most amazing views from the hill top. The country life can be best enjoyed here and there are quite a few budget places to stay. There are a few trains that come to Parasanthon daily basis and therefore the connectivity is good. Even the buses are also available. However this has been declared as a Naxalite prone region and one should get the proper security advice before visiting here.
