We are in the very early stages of planning a trip to Portugal. It`s a country we`ve never visited and I know it`s
very favoured by many including Linda and Don!
I`ve read all the travelogues and searched the archives but I have a couple of questions about transportation between areas.
Having read in a couple of guide books that Portuguese drivers are reckless to the extreme I`m wondering if we might do well to forget renting a car. We`d like to go to
Porto, to Coimbra, to Lisbon and for a few days of R&R somewehere on the Algarve - maybe Nerja?? Would we be able to do this without too much hassle by train?
We`ll have around 3 weeks and I`d like it not to be rushed.
This is a trip we might not do for another year - we`ll be going somewhere warm this winter but that destination is still not fully decided - but I want to begin the planning for Portugal especially since we have to organise around getting a flight with airline points!
Any advice would be great.
