The Pyramid Valley is located at an easy driving distance of 30km from Bengaluru (Karnataka) and lies nestled amidst rocky hills and lush green valleys. Oft visited by tourists and devotees alike, this Maitreya Buddha Pyramid is slate gray in color and was erected solely for the purpose of meditation.
The physical dimensions of this pyramid are indeed impressive—with a base area of 160 feet by 160 feet and a height of 102-ft, it is capable of accommodating 5,000 people at a single time. There are numerous meditation pyramids across the world and in India, but by far, the one located here is the largest.
Maitreya Buddha Pyramid has been greatly inspired by the architectural structure of the Pyramid of Giza. The base of this pyramidal edifice is made of cement while the remaining potions are in steel. More than 40,000 cement tiles have been inlaid on the steel frame to make a beautiful mural that depicts the elements. Its southern face refers to fire while the north, east and west depict air, water and earth respectively. The space present within the huge pyramid depicts the Fifth Element. Here, you can savor the delights of free lunch and dinner—the cost of which is covered through donations.
