Rachol Seminary Church or Patriarchal Seminary of Rachol as it is called is reflection historical past of History of Christianity in Goa. The foundation stone for the main quadrangular portion was blessed and laid on 1 November 1606 by Fr. Gaspar Soares. This peaceful and beautiful seminary is built on ruins of a Muslim fort. It has been home to many translations of Christian literature in local language i.e Konakani. infact the first press was built in 1616 over her.
Within this seminary lies the beautiful Church of St. Ignatius of Loyala the founder of Jesuits order of Christianity. Within the precincts of this seminary also lie the sacred relics and a vial containing the blood of a Roman saint and martyr, St. Constantius. These relics are venerated even today in the Church of the seminary.
