The Ranakpur temple is considered to be dedicated to Adinatha, the first of the 24 T?rthankaras in the religion of Jainism.The Ranakpur temple is considered to be an extremely important pilgrimage centre for the Jains and is a beautiful example of the craftsmanship of the Indian artisans as well as the stone sculptors who have built the temple with a lot of intricacy and minutely. As you visit the temple one can see the intricate and minute carvings on the 1444 pillars of this temple. You will notice that all the pillars are different from each other thereby making the structure an architectural spectacle and wonder.
The Ranakpur temple is placed right in the middle of the desert and it is quite difficult to believe that this huge structure stands right in the middle of a desert. The temple looks very heavenly and completely divine. The entire temple has been carved in the stone amber and is surrounded by lush green gardens. The temple is located at a distance of approximately 90 km from the city of Udaipur. There is no entry fee for visiting this beautiful temple.
