What are the religious attractions in Goa?

Goa is well known all throughout the world for its beautiful churches and ancient Hindu temples. The most famous church of Goa is the the Basilica of Bom Jesus. This is actually a catholic church in which the tomb of St. Francis Xavier, a saint has been preserved. The whole church is decorated with precious stones and paintings depicting the life of St. Francis. Se Cathedral is yet another beautiful church in Goa. This was built in the memory of St. Catherine. This is also a UNESCO world heritage site. The cross Jesus Christ in this church seems to be growing every year due to which this is regarded as a magical church Apart from these mesmerizing churches there are a couple of Hindu Temples and Mosques also located in the beautiful city of Goa.
The Mahalsa temple situated in Mardol in Goa is a prominent temple of the Hindu god Lord Vishnu who also is also regarded as Narayani. A temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Mahadeva temple is located near to the river Salaulim. This was built so that this does not get submerged into the dam water. A very prominent mosque by the name of Safa Shahouri masjid is also located here this is one of the 27 masjid’s located in Ponda Taluka.
