If you have read the history books then you must have heard about Pataliputra on multiple occasions. Now only the ruins remain of this ancient city which was once the capital of many empires from 491 BC to 237 BC. The Bihar city had seen the empires of Ajatasastru, Chandragupta, and Ashoka.
Today if you visit the site, you will have to go in scuba wear to see the details of it. There are lovely descriptions outside the ruins to provide the historical relevance of the city. The entry ticket is quite cheap and the place remains open on all days. This place can be visited at all days of weeks at 9am to sunset (6PM). The entry fee for Indian/foreigner respecitevely Rs5/100.
