The Se De Catarina is known as the biggest church located in Old Goa and is also quite well known. The construction of the church began in the year 1562 and finally was completed in the year 1619. The Altars were completed in 1652. The architecture of the church was in a Portuguese-Gothic style which has a Tuscan exterior and Corinthian interior.
A tower of the church even has a bell, which is more commonly known as the Golden Bell because of its rich sound which is produced upon ringing the bell. The main altar of the church is dedicated to St Catherine of Alexandria. The paintings on either side of the altar showcase the scenes from her life and martyrdom.
