Shirdi Sai Baba Temple, located in close proximity to Mylapore in Chennai, is an important place of worship for followers of all religious faiths. Dedicated to Sai Baba of Shirdi, an Indian saint, the foundation of this temple was laid by Narasimhaswami, a Sai Baba devotee and Salem. The donation provided by a Chettiar merchant was largely instrumental in bringing the temple’s construction to a completion –in the year 1952. Holding the highest levels of religious significance, Shirdi Sai Baba Temple also serves as the headquarters of the All India Sai Samaj.
The All India Sai Samaj is a large organization founded seven decades back, by Sri Narasimhaswamiji. With the aim of propagating of the teachings and life and teachings of Sai Baba, Narasimhaswamiji had traversed across India and made the saint’s name as popular as those of Krishna and Rama.
Sri Swamiji had also authored many books that highlighted Sai Baba’s mission to bring the Hindu and Muslim committees together. His religion preaches love, peace and harmony. It is said that Sai Baba was neither a Muslim nor Hindu and his early life and birth was enshrouded in deep mystery.
