The Holy cave of Shiv Khori is situated in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir. It is one of most respected Cave shrines in this region renowned for the natural formation of Shiv Lingam. In a visit of 2 to 3 hours, the cave can be explored though not entirely but sufficient to one’s satisfaction. Being one of the most wonderful caves, the Shiv Khori also called as “Home of Gods”, blesses the visitors with its divine ambience. The cave is 200 mts long, 2-3 mts high and 1 meter wide.
The Svayambhu Lingum is about 1.219 Metres high and as per the mythology this lingum is never ending. The entrance of the cave is spacious enough to accommodate 300 devotees at a time. On the occasion of Maha Shivratri a 3 day mela is organised and thousands of devotees attend it. The Shiv Khori Shrine Board is developing this spot to provide facilities to the pilgrims like guest house, reception centre, tiled road in the entire 3-km long track, developments of park etc. Also the cave is being provided with generators and exhaust fan and shelter sheds for yatris with toilet facilities are being constructed near the cave site.
