The temple has been renovated several times due to damage by avalanches in badrinath,uttarakhand, The present temple was built about two centuries ago by the king of Garhwal.The idol of Lord Badrivishal is made of block stonesha-ligram, and rupresents Vishnu seated in a meditative posa.
