Sri Aurobindo Ashram was founded in the year of 1926 by Sri Aurobindo and French woman known as the Mother. The Ashram will provide you the spiritual environment to learn and practice yoga and modern science. After Aurobindo’s death, the authority was passed to the Mother who also died in 1973. She was 97 years old. The ashram is well maintained and a number of cultural and educational activities are being conducted on regular basis. A large number of visitors come here every day and some even stay here. There is a Samadhi of Aurobindo and the Mother in the central courtyard which is also the important place to meditate. There is an educational centre in the opposite hall. Most of the times, you will find an educational film, lecture, play or even music performances in this centre. There is also a library where you can enhance your learning further. It’s a beautiful place to visit and it gives you an altogether different experience that you will not find anywhere else.
