The Stok palace is located at distance of only 14 kms, right across the River Indus. This is major a major tourist attraction in Leh. This was originally built in the year 1825 AD by King Tsespal Tondup Namgyal. Even today this palace is very attractive as stunning and is a perfect blend of ancient as well as modern architectures, making the palace all the more beautiful. One can visit this palace by travelling in jeeps or in shared taxis which bring tourists here.
The palace is quite well known for the lovely gardens and for view that one gets during the sunrise and the sunset hours. In the modern times the palace is kept open for tourists and one can even see the huge collection of royal dresses, crowns apart from the other royal items.
