Visiting the museum at Surendrapuri is an amazing experience. One can enjoy seeing the life-sized replicas of the various big and well known major Hindu temples along with the paintings and sculptures. All of these depict the stories from the different Hindu mythologies. The museum is located a distance of 60 kms from the main city of Hyderabad. This place is not much visited by the tourist population.
If you are interested in finding out the how many Hindu god and goddesses are there, then this museum is a must visit for you. The museum is also known as the Mythological awareness centre. This museum was primarily set up for creating awareness about the Hindu mythology. The museum was actualized by Mr. Kundu Satyanarayana, who actually built it in the loving memory of his son.
The replicas make you feel as if you are visiting a temple. Depending on the size of these replicas these have been either constructed outdoors or have been placed indoors. One can also see many paintings and structures which will depict the instances from Mahabharata, Ramayana, and the Bhagavad Gita etc. One can also see a very interesting life-sized artistic representation of the 'three worlds', heaven and hell.
