Tips on travel to Patagonia

Greetings fellow ,
My family and best friend`s family are heading to South America in February for a multi-purpose trip - family visit and christening of my daughter in Bogota (wife is Colombiana) followed by a 14-day stay in Chile. My friend and I are looking to get in some backpacking in Patagonia while the wives visit with family in Santiago, figure we`d have from February 24th to March 1st for packing plus travel. I`m wrestling with logistics, e.g. travel (bogota-punta arena-santiago), first/last night lodging, and what we could realistically get in over 4-5 days of packing (Torres del Paine, etc).
Since we`re already going to be multi-segment anyway, what I`ve been thinking was fly straight from Bogota to Punta Arena on the 24th, snooze (since most flights seem to arrive at 12:30AM) then grab a car, head to the park and hit the trail. End of trip would drive back to PA, snooze, then catch the first flight out Saturday morning to Santiago and hook back up with the families.
Any help/pointers would be greatly appreciated.
