Venkateshawara Temple is one of the most famous Hindu Temples and pilgrims come here in large numbers every day. Venkateshwara who is considered to be an avatar of Vishnu is worshipped in the temple. It is believed that Venkateshwara has the power to grant the wishes to those who worship him. There is a culture of donating hair to the deity in gratitude for a fulfilled wish. The temple always remains full with thousands of people visiting here every day. The temple’s history dates back to 2000 years from today and the place also appears multiple times in ancient Hindu scripts including Puranas. The main temple area remains crowded and you will find yourself amidst thousands of other devotees. The interiors of the temple are quite wonderful and the statue of Venkateshwara sits gloriously on his throne. “Ordinary Darshan” requires a long wait of several hours in the metal cages ringing in the temple. The “Special Darshan” tickets are available at Rs 50 and can be purchased atTirupathi during the day time. Through this, you will be able to get inside quickly and will not have to wait for long. Foreigners often take VIP Cellar Darshan which has least waiting period. You will have to bring your ID proof along with Rs 100 to the Joint Executive Officer’s office in Tirumala.
