Tour Plan: Sikkim-Bhutan-Arunachal and more!

Its been a while since I made a post here; though I have been reading the many of your posts in "Daily Digest" doses. A *crazy and wild* kind of tour is coming up for me and I thought will post an outline of that before I embark on that on April 9th. Background: I have been dreaming (for over a year now!) of doing a liesurly driving tour (in a SUV) across the entire Himalayas of India, Nepal, Sikkim, Bhutan. And now suddenly a chance to do a part of it (as a passenger) with a Veteran-Roadie has come up. BTW: The Himalayan dream had been named GHiRT - an acronym for Grand Himalayan Road Tour. GHiRT-1 stands for the 1st part of it > Sikkim-Bhutan- Arunachal The veteran roadie, one HV Kumar (HVK), is planning a 3-week road tour in his SUV (a Scorpio) starting 9th April. He calls his plan as "K2K2". Its entirely by road and starts from Thane, Mumbai and Ends here. (So for me it is like a door-to-door service!) It`s a tentative plan and is being polished further. Total Distance (estimate) KM = 9783 HVK`s "K2K2" plan comprises three parts: 1st: A wild drive across India from Mumbai to Kolkata and then to Silguri in 3 days! 2nd: The Sikkim-Bhutan-Arunachal part (my GHiRT-1, if you like) from Day-4 to Day-15. 3rd: The part that gives name to HVK`s code K2K2 - from Kibithu (in Arunachal) to Koteshwar (in Kutch), is another wild dash across the country (from East to West). Have`nt heard of Kibithu or Koteshwar? Well Kibthu, approx 28 deg N, 97 deg E, is the Easternmost motorable town in India and Koteshwar, approx 23 deg N,68 deg E, is the Westernmost motorable town in India! Wow!! So you might now understand, why a "veteran-roadie" like HVK will want to do that! Those with Google Earth loaded can checkout those Lat-Long coords. Incidentally, Google-Maps also covers India nowadays and so one can see the Towns, Highways, Distances etc. on that too. If anybody is really interested, I can post route details when finalised. BTW: The original "K2K" is Kashmir (North most) to Kanyakumari (Southern-tip). This "K2K2" is Kibithu to Koteshwar! When I am back from the tour (May-09), will post some stories from this tour and update my Travel Blog (link below).
