Travel Italy and France with teenagers
Posted on Jun 27, 2013 by
My husband and I are planning a trip to Italy and France this summer with our 14 and 18 year olds for the first time. We will have a week aprox. in each country and would love suggestions from experienced travelers on where best to take our teens! I know that after about two churches they are going to roll their eyes, same with museums. I could go in and out of both for many hours. So I would love any helpful ideas. Also any suggestions about moving around the areas. We are thinking of using trains as much as possible. In Italy we are starting a list of possible cities to visit and know that with the time we have, three is probably max we can do. Rome of course is so important with the history. Venice, because it`s unique with the waterways....even though it`s very touristy. Cinque Terre or Portofino are two that have been suggested, so please chime in. For France, Paris, Normandy, and we will end at Mont Ventoux because that is the area of the tour de France that my husband most wants to see. But we are looking for suggestions of other areas and also the best points of interest in the areas that are decided on as well. Thanks for any help you can give! For background, we have enjoyed a bit of traveling, mostly in the states. We enjoy art, photography, fishing, biking (only the husband :-), he can sit on that bike for hundreds of miles!) walking....and relaxing is always good on a vacation.
