Travel United Kingdom Trip

In May, I spent two weeks in the UK, most of it in southern Wales. We picked up the car at Heathrow and drove to Windsor where we stayed overnight. The next two days we drove on to Gloucester, Hereford and Worcester to look at cathedrals and other sights. For the next week we drove through Wales through the Brecon Beacons, over to St Davids, down to the Gower peninsula and then back to Cardiff. St Davids` was spectacular as was Rhossili Bay on the Gower peninsula. Tenby was a fabulous seaside town, I highly recommend it. North of the Brecon Beacons is the Elan Valley with a series of resevoirs and dams built by the Victorians. It`s a nice drive and dams are a sight to behold, those Victorians really knew how to build! In Cardiff, two sights stand out both once owned by the Marquess of Bute, Cardiff Castle and Castle Coch. Since money was no object, these castles became gothic fantasies and the rooms are spectacular! From Cardiff we drove to London where we spent the weekend. All in all another fabulous trip, metting new people and soaking in the fantastic British history.
