Tuni is a famous town in Andhra Pradesh. It is located on the coast line touching Bay of Bengal. It is well connected by road and rail by other major cities. Tuni is famous for its handloom industry and mango exports. A large variety of Mangoes; about 250 varieties of them are grown here. It is also famous for Jute bags.Cashew nuts are other major produce of Tuni. The weather is humid and hot during summers so it is best to visit during the month of November to February.
Tuni has a rich historical heritage. Buddhism flourished from here and there are many Buddhist aramas and stupas to testify the history of this place. It is considered a very sacred place for Buddhists and the town is also called ‘Panchashhela Buddhist center’ due to the recent discovery of five ancient Buddhist stupas. The holy place of Annavaram is located near Tuni, which brings a lot of tourists and devotees here. The town of Tuni is very beautiful. It is a calm place and devoid of any rush of big cities.The picturesque hills, ponds and the greenery give a very pleasant experience to the visitors. Sunday is market fare day in Tuni when people can buy things of their interest. The town is not much expensive.
