The Udai Sagar Lake was constructed in the year 1559 by Maharana Udai Singh, the founder of the city of Udaipur. The Udai Sagar Lake is located almost 13 km towards the east of the city today. The Lake is visited by many people for viewing the beautiful sunset but most of the water from the Lake is used up by the zinc smelter which is located close by.
The sun set looks simply beautiful as one can see the fiery hues of red, which also showcases the historic battle which was fought on the banks of this lake between Maharana Pratap and Man Singh which eventually led to the Battle of Haldighati. There is no entry fee for sightseeing this Lake.
