What are the useful tips and guidelines for a trip to Jamnagar?

If you are visiting Gujarat and not visiting the city of Jamnagar then your trip to this beautiful state would be incomplete. Jamnagar has always been a very popular tourist destination in the Indian state of Gujarat. Although there are no stringent guidelines for visiting this city, however there a few tips which if followed would be beneficial for you.
Incase you are visiting any religious places like a temple, and then a proper dress code must be followed. This is a dry area, therefore liquor is strictly prohibited. Even non vegetarian food is not allowed. Incase these rules are flouted then a legal action may be taken.
You must ensure that all your hotel reservations have been made well in advance, especially if you plan to visit the city in the month of October to March. During October November Navratri festival will be there, so most of the hotels don’t have rooms available and make prior reservations. You may also wish to check if the hotel you are staying serves liquor or not. Only selected hotels are allowed to serve liquor. It is important to know that Indians are not allowed to consume liquor and foreigners and NRIs need to take permission for the consumption of alcohol.
Travel to Jamnagar should be avoided as much as possible in summers. The heat waves are very intense and it’s extremely hot here.
While visiting Jamnagar you must carry clothes which are light and easy fabrics like cotton. It is advisable to wear full sleeves and loose clothes, as its quite hot even during winters. Gujarati’s as a community are quite conservative so you need to understand and their culture and thoughts.
The people of Gujarat are very friendly however very sensitive also as far as religion and culture is concerned.
