This festival is celebrated for approximately 15 days, with the first three days being the most important. People offer prayers in Gompas and personal shrines. The whole city turns into a big stage where one can see stage fights between good and evil, the dance of ibex bear and a number of ancient rituals.. And just do not forget to enjoy the local beer of Leh-changkol.

This festival comes around in the month of June July. Its celebrated to commemorate the birth of Guru Padmasambhav who founded the Tantric Buddhism. All through Leh people can be seen wearing bizarre costumes and dancing to the music of drums and cymbals.
