Built to commemorate the visit of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the 9th guru of the Sikhs, when he visited Lucknow in 1670 on his way back from Patna Sahib-- the Yahiyaganj Gurudwara is one of the few Gurudwaras of Lucknow. The Guru stayed at this place for three days, post which the construction of the Gurudwara started. In 1672 Guru Gobind Singh visited the city and stayed at this place for about two months. An art gallery displaying the events and history of the Sikh Panth is part of the Gurudwara. Although not on the popular tourist map, the Gurudwara is worth a visit.
